*Sigh*

So, I made myself promise that I would not start a new project until I finished at least one of my shawls. I have two that are close, my Clap and my plain Jane rectangle. Both are very near completion. So I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to hold off knitting anything else until then. And yet, what did I do today? Cast on for a blanket. A BLANKET. Not a small little simple project, a big horking blanket. It is a lap blanket though, it's not like it's going to be huge, but still. I have no will power.

So far, I have knit 18 repeats of the straight section of the Clap, out of the 20 I think I'm planning on doing. I honestly have no idea how the pattern as written (with 13 repeats) produces something long enough to become a shawl. But whatever tickles your pickle.

I have made progress since this picture, but it's pretty close:

And this is an older picture of my rectangular shawl, I've made a ton of progress since then:
It's about 5 feet right now. I really only work on this during my lunch hour at work, but I'm chugging away.

What a life

"Go away, this is my chair. You'll just have to knit later."

"See, I'm too pathetic to push off, right? Now scram."

"BONE!! Om nom nom."

She's got it good, I wish I could sleep and eat all day. She likes to take control of my knitting chair when I get up, and then look all sad and pathetic when I get back, so I feel guilty pushing her off. She usually puts up with getting down long enough for me to sit down, then she'll jump back up and cram herself between me and the arm of the chair.

Stitch n Pitch!

Sorry, this is a bit late. But Stitch n Pitch was a blast, and we won! Though we left a little early to get to the buses on time, and missed the winning home run! That was such a bummer. But still, I had fun and picked up some pretty new sock yarn.

I bought pretty sock yarn:

And, the next day I got my Ravelry tote in the mail!:

Stitch & Pitch tomorrow!

Here are some pictures from last year, I'm brining my camera along again this year. I'm going to bring my Clap to work on, since it's the prettiest project at the moment. Hey, it's a giant group of other knitters, you have to show off, you know?

Score!

Thanks to Little Knits, one more skein of this will be winging its way to me sometime next week:

Now I don't have to worry about running out of yarn, and I can add a few more middle repeats, which is good, because otherwise it would end up too short for my liking. Go Little Knits! They're a lifesaver.

Clapotis

I decided I like the anticipation of coming up to, and dropping, one stitch per repeat. It makes the repeats more enjoyable, like a little prize mid-way through! Here's what I have finished so far:

I've finished 9 out of 13 straight section repeats, and I'm starting to feel like it won't be long enough. And there's a chance I don't have enough yarn, so I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this yet. I'll see how it looks once I finish all 13 repeats, and if I think I'll have enough yarn, I'll add a few more.

Bath time for Daisy

"This is what I think of you and your stupid baths!"

"Can I come out now?"

There, don't you feel better Daisy?
